Chapter 17

Early the next morning, Julia winced when she got up from the toilet after peeing.

That strap-on she and Camden had used last night was amazing—it was certainly one of her favourites, even if it didn’t have a vibrating feature. But mercy, it made her vagina sore the next day—or the same day, depending on how early it was used.

She forgot the name of the dildo’s particular model. It had been on the adult toys website she had bought it from, but now she couldn’t recall it. Something Greek…The Olympus or The Hercules. Something silly like that.

She brushed her teeth now with her mint-green Hum toothbrush and thought about last night.

The sex aside—and they had kept at it for a while—it had been a wonderful night with Camden. Even after they had decided that it was time for bed, they had stayed up for another hour, talking in the dark, finding out more about one another. In the end, when sleep finally overcame her, Julia had drifted off feeling even more sure that Camden was definitely someone she wanted to work very hard at keeping.

When she was done with everything else she needed to do in the en suite, she went back into the bedroom.

Camden was still asleep, and Julia stood and watched her. It felt spectacular seeing her in her bed. It felt right, in fact. It made her feel warm and comforted.

And bonus! This time, Camden wouldn’t be leaving for Carnon Downs as soon as she woke up. She would be staying here in Tremont! All day! And then all night! The very thought of that made Julia smile and think how lucky she was.

Quietly, she changed out of her pyjamas and then put on grey drawstring jogger sweatpants. She then put on a bra and a nice but casual black top which clashed with the sweatpants stylistically. But she had an on-camera Zoom meeting this morning to discuss the results of her latest test cases and so her top half had to at least look presentable. Once she was done with the meeting, the bra would come off. Maybe the shirt as well. The temperature in her cottage felt rather nice despite the early hour, and it wouldn’t be the first time she had done some of her work topless.

Once dressed, she left the bedroom, closing the door softly behind her.

Yesterday, she had worked well into the evening, until almost the time Camden had arrived. The result was that she had finished tasks she originally had slated for today, which meant she would be able to give herself the majority of the day off. And then…she and Camden would go exploring.

The plan was to have lunch at Tremont’s local, The Ladle & Spoon, browse the shops on the high street, and then do a basic walkabout, checking out the village. Julia was thinking it might be nice to stop into Bean There/Done That and say hello to Rylea again.

Thinking of that…

She needed coffee.
